Death of a Tyrant
Saturday, December 30th, 2006So Saddam Hussein is dead. Some people are gladdened by this news, but I would have preferred to have him rot in jail for the rest of his life. Surrounded by the people he victimized, he might not have lasted a long time anyway.
Perhaps his death marks the beginning of a positive future for Iraq. I hope so.

I hope so too but I think it’s going to take a hell of a long time before Iraq can be sorted out. I agree with you on that he should have just been left to suffer in jail for the rest of his days because I don’t think the hanging would have pained him as much as getting bummed in jail every other day but it’s done now and thank the Lord he’s gone. Here’s a question for you though, do you think it was fair or right to have him hung on the same day where Muslims celebrated their Eid (which was today)?

I don’t think that it was right for him to be executed today. They could have waited, and they should have waited.

I agree with you, I think some months or years longer rotting in prison and reflecting over his crimes till he really was broken would have been better. However done is done and now lets hope there is a brighter future in store for the Iraqi people.
