Back to life, back to reality
Back to the here and now yeah
Show me how, decide what you want from me
Tell me maybe I could be there for you

However do you want me
However do you need me

Anyway. Here’s the blow by blow.

Monday:

Work: my colleague Kay was getting on my nerves so much! She was fussing and stressing all over the place as she was going on holiday the following day (apparently). I got that call from the credit card company and felt kind of helpless/hopeless. I texted my friend Miguel to ask him if he could give me back some of the money that he still owes me. He said that he could give me £50, and we agreed to meet up the following day after my work.

Tuesday:

Work: busy, but Kay turned up again in the afternoon to finish a few more things. She’ll be away until next Tuesday (thank goodness).

After work I went to see Miguel and get my money! He was getting ready to meet up with his latest beau for a dinner date. He’d already cooked some chicken for the two of them to enjoy before the main course. He gave me the money, which I pocketed casually.

A short while later, Miguel’s flatmate Ricky, turned up. He reminds me of my ex for some reason, though there’s no actual chemistry between us. He’s a musician, having completed a music degree he’s currently working for a record company and performing at small venues around London. While Miguel was getting ready for his date, we chatted about music mainly. As I was quite hungry and tired I had been planning to leave at the same time as Miguel, as but Ricky and I were having a good old natter he said I was welcome to stay and chat as he had to dash.

Reader, nothing untoward happened! (Sorry, I’ve been reading Jane Eyre, and couldn’t help myself!)

Anyway, he sang several of his songs for me. (Which he hasn’t even done for Miguel.) I gave him my honest opinion of each one. Then he played me some of his beats and then we chatted about music generally. It was a good chat, but I was tired and hungry so part of me wanted to go. Ricky is a hard guy to interrupt when he’s in the flow though. I didn’t leave until 11pm! He left with me to go to some club in Stratford which was probably about to close.

Oh yeah, something weird happened. As I went down the stairs, that £50 dropped out of my pocket. Ricky saw it and asked if it was mine. I said it was, but before he gave it back to me he checked his wallet and examined the notes… Tres bizarre. That incident made me think that maybe my chi or my karma is dodgy at the moment - money is literally slipping out of my fingers. Does anyone know any mystical remedies for such situations? Do I need to put something red in a certain corner of my room?

Wednesday:

I had been planning to see my grandma, but decided to stay at home and sort out my finances. I asked my mum to pay the credit card company for me (I’ll repay her shortly) to get them off my back and started organising the ebay auctions for my brother.

Thursday:

Thought my period was going to start so I decided to stay close to home. I went to Croydon, watched Run, Fatboy, Run at the cine. Then came home to sort out my T13 Unseen Characters post (aren’t I sad?!)

Friday:

A busy day at work, had to hold the fort due to Kay’s absence. It was Gavin’s last day there after having worked there for 12 years, so I took him and Henry (his replacement) to lunch at Dirk’s cafe. After always going there alone it was funny to go there with not one, but two men! Dirk messed up my order as usual and took ages to make Gavin’s bacon and egg sandwich for some strange reason. Gavin is gay and confirmed that Dirk is a very good-looking bloke (for his sins).

Henry is a gorgeous married guy, and he seems like a really nice guy so far. He offered us all chocolate the other day, and said that he loved sweet things. A kindred spirit, indeed!

Saturday:

I finally went to see my grandma. I read Jane Eyre on both journeys and spent a few hours with my gran. She’s okay, and in good spirits.

Today:

Had a rough morning with my fem-pen. Finished off my brother’s auctions, and added a few of my own. (Sold 4 DVDs on amazon so far!) Just finished watching Dexter (currently my favourite show) and now I need to get ready for tomorrow.
