The Last Ten Days
Thursday, October 4th, 2007The people have spoken! According to the results of my recent poll, my readers like to read about my life and my random thoughts.
Here’s a brief summary of the last 10 days or so in my life, I had been planning to write this last Sunday but my internet problems made it impossible.

Tues 25 Sept
Went to work as usual. Had an unexpected visit from Dirk, who tried to kiss me, and compared me to another woman who’d been at the cafe that day. He basically said that she was more attractive but I was sexier, or something to that effect. Then he told me that his brother (who looks a bit like Eric Bana) is a stripper…

Felt very low that night. Wrote about Umbrella.

Wed 26 Sept
Not much to report. Will post about Dirty Cows separately.
Wrote about turning off the internet and some interesting links.
–
Thurs 27 Sept
Saw Disturbia at the cinema. It passed the time but felt rather like Transformers, but with a serial killer instead of the autobots as the main plot premise.
Shia LaBoeuf as misunderstood teen? ?
Hot girl as love interest? ?
Clueless parent? ?
I rest my case.

Wrote about some books for writers.

Fri 28 Sept - Sun 30 Oct
Nothing much to report. Nothing I can remember anyway, apart from losing my religion for a few days (aka the internet).

Wrote a few posts to pass the time.

Mon 1 Oct
A few of my purchases from America arrived:
a) Ryan Shanahan’s KettleBell Workout DVD to help me to workout with my new Russian kettlebell (a versatile weight training device which Russian military men, and bodybuilders use for a killer whole-body workout).

b) Set of Field Note books

c) Khaki Simplebits T-Shirt. There’s something about khaki.

Tues 2 Oct
Woke up early and did the Kettlebell DVD. It was a killer workout! Here’s a sample of that vid:
Attended the first session of a depression support group, as prescribed by my doctor. It was awful. I’ll blog about it in more detail later.

Then I went to work. The exercise seemed to give me an energy boost, but I still couldn’t get everything done. I’m definitely doing a full-time job in part-time hours.

Yesterday (Wed 3 Oct)
Popped into work for about half an hour to sort out a few things, then met up with Miguel and his friend’s five-year-old son. We walked to Parliament Square and took some pics at the Nelson Mandela statue.

On the way back we passed by the Foyles bookshop at the South Bank, and I spent £84 on books…
Then we got some food and went back to Miguel’s place. Charlene turned up and seemed to be actively wooing me as a friend. She’s recently moved to London and is trying to make friends. I guess I like things to happen more organically. Also she’s a bit troubled and seems to change her mind a lot, so I’m not sure that she’d be the best companion for me at the moment. I’m troubled enough already.

Today
Watched some more Carnivàle episodes, exercised for an hour, then sorted out some paperwork and bought some lovely Chinese food for dinner. Blogged. And here we are.
